Our Home Office Must Haves

Whether you’re working from home or your kids are doing virtual learning this year, it’s definitely important to have a designated work space! Working in a space you love can make a world of a difference. It can help increase your productivity and make you feel happier and more motivated to get to work everyday. Because a lot of us are working from home these days, we’re sharing our home office must haves.

First thing first, the desk. If you’re like me, then you probably have worked in bed, on the couch, at the dining room table and maybe even outside on the porch! But one thing for certain is that it can take a toll on your back or neck and your brain. If you wake up and stay in bed on your computer all day it can be tough to separate work life from your regular life. We chose to have a designated workspace in a spare bedroom and we picked a vintage desk that we love. The top was made out of a piece of wood from an old door and it has the perfect rustic feel for our space.

Next pick a rug to ground your space. We chose something cozy feeling that brightens up this area and also adds a touch of vintage charm to compliment the desk.

Another must have for your home office is a comfy chair. We chose this midcentury modern piece that adds a fun touch of modern style to the space. It’s also very comfortable and hugs your body which is perfect for days when you are on the computer the whole time.

A touch of a personal element can also spark joy for you throughout your work day! We opted for some special and meaningful art pieces and some personal photos (hung from a mobile).

If extra drawer space is needed we recommend an organizer shelf with drawers that can go on top of your desk. It maximizes space and helps to contain any extra office supplies.

To finish off the space we definitely recommend having some plants nearby. A little bit of greenery goes a long way! House plants can really liven up a space and some varieties even purify the air!
